"and theres a part of me that
still believes my soul will soar
above the trees,
and a desperate fear flows
through my blood that our dead
love's buried beneath the mud."

so. i saw the trailer for the first episode of the US remake of the amazing British programme SKINS. if you are blissfully aware of the US version, LOOK AWAY NOW. because if, like me, you hate the idea you will VOMIT at the shocking reality.
so, the central character of the first generation - Tony. in the american version, he has kept his first name and is now Tony Snyder. (shudder). now, i have nothing against James Newman, the guy who plays Snyder, but no one on this earth (most likely) has the charm of Nicholas Hoult. am i right or am i right?
worse, the beautifully camp Maxxie Oliver has been changed into a lesbian called Tea Marvelli. and the legend that is Effy Stonem (played by Kaya Scodelario) has been changed to EURA SNYDER.
American parent groups are already vibrating with anger because it features 'underage actors' doing it. as a result of the show's raciness, Yum! Brands (Taco Bell), Mars, Incorporated (Wrigley), L'Oreal and more have all opted to pull their advertising from the programme shown on MTV. controversy.
now, i'm not hatin', but what is the point? they havent even changed the plot of the episode. sorry Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain, but it just seems like you're doing it for the money. the only thing i can see that is good is how freakin' cute Stanley Lucerne (Sid to us), played by Daniel Flaherty is.
heart breaking.

| at least they've used good camera effects |
all i can say, is that originality is dead.

okay. the only way to begin this blog, really, is to write about one of my favourite musical artists Uffie. first of all i would like to say I DO NOT LIKE POP MUSIC. i do adore Lady GaGa like a sister, but it is purely because she is so individual, in both music and fashion, that she is freakin' amazing.
anyway, back to UFF. i'm not really up for all this 'i'm tha hottest in tha HOOOOD' and 'when i walk into the club everyone salutes', but when Uffie says such things in her songs, such as "bad ass bitch, i'm rated x"
and "Me and my stupid flow, me and my myspace with only three tracks a year and they STILL talk about me? Damn"
it almost seems as if she's mocking all these 'hard' people. maybe its just how i see it but there.
basically i have never heard of someone as musically interesting as Uffie. each track on her debut Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans sounds totally different to the next, but in a good way. personally, i have no idea why my beloved NME magazine gave it a 0 out of 10.
if i had to rate it...
1) pop the glock - 8/10
2) art of uff - 10/10
3) add suv -10/10
4) give it away - 7/10
5) MCs can kiss - 9/10
6) difficult - 6/10
7) sex dreams and denim jeans - 10/10
8) our song - 5/10
9) illusion of love - 6/10
10) neuneu - 10/10
11) brand new car - 8/10
12) hong kong garden - 7/10
13) ricky - 10/10
and its not like she isnt into good music either - her album features a cover of Siouxie And The Banshee's Hong Kong Garden and Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans is heavily inspired - and features a sample - by the Velvet Underground track 'Rock&Roll'.
heres my point: i'm not saying Uffie is really talented - "I cant even sing, y'know?"- but she sure makes one hell of a good album.
